Well, no matter what you do, make sure you get something filed with the court. Otherwise, one party or the other can hire a lawyer later and come after you for more.

There ARE such things as assembly-line divorces. You can see ads for like $200 divorces on tv. I assume that means that nothing’s being contested, though.

My attorney really screwed me over, too. He just seemed to put everything into a computer program without thinking of any angles or advantages for me. It was like assembly-line divorce.

There’s no such thing as malpractice attornies who go after lawyers. It might be called something else, but don’t look under “malpractice” in the yellow pages. It’s not the same thing.

Sometimes, you just get what you pay for. And then you have to really weigh if it’s worth the effort and the money. I don’t think you’d get anything accomplished anyway.

You might be able to do something. Isn’t there some way if your lawyer was a real loser who didn’t know what he was doing? Have you checked if he was even a real lawyer?

Yeah, I’m afraid that whatever you both agreed to and had signed and notarized, you’re stuck with. The only thing that’s changeable–and only if one party’s circumstances have significantly changed–is child support.

What exactly were the types of things that were missed? You actually might have some recourse if the things that were missed were kind of negligent. But if it’s just an angle you missed, tough luck.
