Be Cautious With Loans
Lots of people use mortgage loans or payday loans but it is always important to try to stay away from them unless you are prepared to pay them back. I even try not to use credit cards because I think that the temptation is too great to start buying up all kinds of different things that maybe a person should not be buying if they can not afford to buy it. I try to live by these rules, but there are often times when emergencies arise and something unforeseen happens.
In cases like this I have resorted to the occasional payday loan or used a credit card advance. I am careful though to only use them in these kinds of circumstances. I also make sure that I work quickly to pay them off, and to not let the debt accumulate over time. I think that is how so many people get so far into debt. I think that it is really important for our society to start learning how to spend responsibly and to manage our money appropriately. Being cautious with loans and credit cards is the first step.

I’m not sure how you would avoid a mortgage loan if you wanted to buy a home. I don’t know anyone would could plunk down $300,000 in cash for a house. I don’t really view a mortgage loan as a negative thing because you are building equity in your house.

I can attest to the credit card thing getting out of control. I owe way too much on the one card that I have. I’m struggling to pay it off now. I can make the minimul payments every month but that’s about it.

It is so easy to become overwhelmed by credit card debt. I was reading a statistic the other day that said that the average number of credit cards that a person has is 8!!! That could easily be $80,000 of debt, just on credit cards!

I have never used a payday loan. I don’t understand how a payday loan would be better in an emergency situation than using your credit card. If you pay off your credit card bill every month, a payday loan or cash advance does not seem any better.

If you have poor or no credit history, or your credit record is not good, your loan may well be approved, but the lending rate will knock your socks off. Be sure to read the fine print before you apply for any credit or credit card.
